The 2007 Six Corners of Nebraska "Iron Knees" Rolling Retreat departed South Sioux City

at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and rolled into Rulo, 1,265 miles later, at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday.

With all the prayer and gas stops and the overnight stop in Sidney, they still averaged over 31 mph!

Check back here often to see new pictures as they are added to the gallery.

The Iron Knees Riders in Chadron

The riders at the Chadron fuel stop assemble for a group photo.

Preparing to depart Chadron for Harrison.

After posing for the group picture, the riders prepare for departure.

Saddle Up!

Road Captain Steve Rothanzl (Morning Star Riders, Lincoln) gives the signal to prepare to ride.

The Second Corner in Harrison

The Fire Station is the site of the Harrison prayer stop.

Western Nebraska made for some scenic pictures.

The western edge of the state has some beautiful roads.

Picture-perfect formation riding

With 1,265 miles of practice, they got pretty good at riding in formation.

The Clouds Parted...

...and they passed between them on dry ground.

The Iron Knees "Onesiphorus" Award

Ward Doering (Second Mile Riders, Omaha) with the Chase Team, Randy and Heidi Pospisil from Wilber, Nebraska. The Pospisils deserve the "Onesiphorus Award" for demonstrating true servant leadership. "The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me..." (2 Tim. 1:16)

Our Minnesota Connection

I'm such a ham I sleep on a hook at night . . .

Mugging for the camera.

Officer Friendly kept us on out toes

While we were careful to obey all posted speed limits, motorcycle cops like this made us especially careful.

Our Third Stop - Bushnell

Near the end of our first day's ride we gathered alongside the road and the tracks to pray for the western portions of Nebraska.

Can you hear me now?

The Bushnell prayer was interrupted more than once by the frequently passing trains.

Overnight in Sidney

Our hosts at the motel in Sidney encouraged us to park wher the bikes would be safe and dry overnight. He even offered to hold our keys for us ... We didn't fall for that.

How small were some towns?

Some towns were so small that Road Captain Steve Rothanzl was leaving before the Co-Road Captain Ward Doering was arriving.

Keeping the Stragglers Close

Co-Road Captain Ward Doering kept those who fell back from getting separated from the pack.

The "First" Haigler Stop

We gathered in the shade of the canopy of this abandoned building to pray -- until the owner arrived and made us go across the street so his anticipated guests would have a place to park.

The Fifth Corner Prayer Stop

Here they are praying in Haigler, the fifth stop. Notice the canopy of the abandoned building in the background. We prayed for the owner who parked his car under it after we moved across the street.

No Road Sign ever looked better

At 11:00 on Sunday night this sign was a sight for sore knees.

Perserverance Personified

Eight hearty riders and one great Chase Team started in South Sioux City and finished in Rulo.
